Ivy's Cafe opens at the SF City Center Hostel, serving beer, wine, and snacks

Need a bite to eat when you arrive after a long flight? A glass of wine after a busy day exploring San Francisco? Now you don't even have to leave the hostel!

The San Francisco City Center Hostel is excited to announce that Ivy's Cafe is now open from 6 p.m. - midnight, every night. In addition to light fare, Ivy's serves California wines along with a selection beers that includes both local microbrews and international favorites.

Ivy's Cafe is located in the former Prohibition-era speakeasy next to the hostel lobby, featuring the original and ornate mahogany bar. Good tunes and satellite TV (including international channels) contribute to a fun, welcoming, low-key atmosphere. This space is used to host our free continental breakfast each morning, and is also the dining room for guests cooking for themselves in our fully equipped, professional-grade kitchen.

Come on in to order a beer to accompany your own cooking, grab a seat at the bar and meet other hostellers, or ask Chris, the bartender, to teach you the rules of baseball during a San Francisco Giants game.

Also join us for one of the many events we host here, including game nights, happy hours, and the start of our popular Thursday night pub crawl.

During the month of August, fans of the City Center Hostel Facebook page get a $5 cafe voucher for free food or drink -- be sure to "like" our page before you arrive at the hostel!
